What's next

The summer's heating up already- and I'd love to see you at one of these upcoming services:

On Sunday, June 27th, I'll be leading worship at Providence Church in West Chester, PA, with some of my ol' worship team friends from CFC. Though Pastor Phil will be in China, guest speaker Larry Kreider from Dove Ministries will be teaching a timely message on leadership and life's tests and trials. Come and worship at PC as they celebrate their new building on Hannum Ave. Services are at 5 & 7:15pm.

On July 11th, I'm so grateful to have been invited back to lead worship again at Coatesville Bible Fellowship. Service starts at 10am. You may want to get there a little earlier to allow time to park. (You can park caddy-corner to the church in the bank parking lot, btw).

I've been asked to lead worship at Windsor Baptist Church in Uwchland, PA on July 18th. Just me and my guitar. The worship service starts at 10am. It'll be nice to see Pastor Chaya and my friends at WBC again.

Then the following two Sundays (July 25th and August 1st) I'll be back down at the shore with Pastor Steve Evans and the joyful worshipers of New Covenant Community Church in Somers Pt, NJ for their morning services. The first Sunday (7/25) I'll be joined by my amazing guitarist and bandmate, Steve Bridgeman. August 1st I'll be flying solo.

Hope you can join me for one of these Sunday services! And thank You, Lord, for providing these wonderful churches to serve!!

Thanks and Prayers...

And thank you so much for your prayers! Having returned to full-time concert/worship ministry, we are SO grateful for your prayers and support to help us through this transition- especially in the summer, when it's historically s-l-o-w with folks on vacation, lower attendance, etc... God is answering prayer and we continue to see His hand of confirmation.

On a sadder note- please remember my dad in your prayers as he appears to be getting close to going home with the Lord. Two years ago he was diagnosed with mesothelioma and was given two weeks to live. My father persevered and fought a good fight, and through much prayer the Lord graciously allowed us this *extra* time with him. He's recently had some setbacks however, and has since been moved to hospice care, being very weak and frail. Please pray for strength for my mom in these days ahead.

Thank you and again, thanks SO much for your love and encouragement. I hope to see you along the road...

Christopher

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm so glad you're here and I pray that you find your way around the place easily. It's new and I'll be making updates and adding new features frequently, so please do check back often! If you've got any questions or ideas for making it better, feel free to drop me a line.

This website really exists for a couple of reasons. One is to help you locate songs & free chord charts of mine quickly. The other is to provide information and resources for those of you who are unfamiliar with this concert and worship ministry.

My joy has been to share the hope and grace I've come to know with those who feel as though all hope is gone (2 Cor. 1:3-4). I understand what it's like to be there... our family has experienced some profound sorrows (you can read a brief bio here or if you have some time and a latte, there's a novel's worth of TMI in the long version).

We've had some wonderful, amazing grace stories as well, don't get me wrong. It's just... I tend to write better in the valley than on the mountain top. (Probably because I listen better there). And these songs and this ministry are real because they're being lived out. I've found when leading folks in worship or ministering in song, there's a deeper joy that comes from a broken heart. A joy that comes from trusting a Sovereign God who reigns over every circumstance of life.

Why "Blessed Hurricane?"

Blessed Hurricane Ministries officially got its name in '95, when I began full-time concert ministry. I had been reading a devotional, Morning and Evening, written by one of my all-time favorite preachers, Charles H. Spurgeon. The quote kinda summed up what the Lord had been showing me through the life of our special needs daughter, Amanda. Again, that afflictions and trials are peculiar "gifts" from the Lord. Here's what Spurgeon had written:

"In season of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth he can trust to and is therefore compelled to cast himself on his God alone. When his vessel's on its beam-end, and no human deliverance can avail, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the providence and care of God. Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a Rock as this! O blessed hurricane that drives a soul to God and God alone."

It's God's character and His great love that we, as a music ministry, want to make much of. And this ministry is to folks of all ages, all backgrounds and musical preferences. We're grateful to be just as appropriate for a youth event like Creation Festival as for an intimate evening church concert for boomers. We're spirit-led and mix it up to include music that is appropriate for wherever we find ourselves. And most important, our desire is that people leave not saying "Wasn't the music (or the worship, the concert, the testimonies, etc...) awesome?" but rather... "Isn't GOD awesome?"

So whether leading worship for your conference or retreat, or sharing an intimate evening of music with your church, college or house concert, thank you for the opportunity to share this special ministry with you!
