Below are some videos I've run across that I've found to be a blessing. Be sure to double-click so you can view the larger screen...

My grandparents were married for 77 years. And one of the greatest gifts my father gave to me before he died was his love and faithfulness to my mom for over 60 yrs. Here's a moving song about staying by one of my favorite artists...

An excellent message from Pastor Tim Keller on The Reason for God.

The DAY festival

Be sure to mark your calendars for a special outdoor event on Saturday, June 2nd in New Holland, PA. The Day festival is a FREE, all day, multi-artist, worship event held in the public park. There will be praise going forth from 10am-10pm. The band and I will be sharing beginning at 5pm. Bring your family and friends, your lawn chairs & blankets, and enjoy a beautiful day of fellowship & worship.

(Come a little earlier @4:15 and catch a set of amazing songs by my bandmate & guitarist extraordinaire, Steve Bridgeman!).

SOLD OUT!

On Saturday, May 5th, the band and I had the joy of leading God's praise once again for another Iron Sharpens Iron national men's conference, hosted by United Men of Faith.

It was a sell-out, with over 1100 men in attendance! Keynote speakers Alex Kendrick, (director and actor of Courageous, Fireproof, & Facing the Giants) and Stu Weber (Pastor, author and Green Beret 3 Bronze Star recipient) gave great insight from God's Word and personal experience, addressing the challenges we face as men. Comedian Brad Stine (Fox & Friends) also shared his convictions with his wry sense of humor.

On a personal note, it was nice to see so many friends from my previous church family (hosting the event). And it was wonderful to hear that our times of corporate worship were a blessing. Special thanks again to UMF and ISI for having us back- and thanks to all of you for your prayers. God is good!

What a Year!

As we press on into 2012 and reflect on 2011, I'm reminded again of God's great faithfulness. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I have gratefully ministered and been ministered to, and have seen the grace of God poured out in amazing and unexpected ways. And His presence and peace have been such a comfort (Jn. 14).

That Jeannie & I have such peace in a year of such turmoil is amazing. We've lost so much, and yet we have all that we need in Christ. We experienced our first year without my dad. And we were blessed to welcome our second beautiful grandson into the world, born on my father's birthday! We still have no healthcare, but we have Godcare, and by His mercy, we have our health.

I was honored to meet and record two of my songs with award-winning producer, Ed Cash. And blessed to be asked to lead worship for a record number of conferences and retreats this year (and meet many of you!)... The men's conferences at Sandy Cove, Lake Champion (NEMR), Iron Sharpens Iron, and Calvary Chapel (Delco). The 1st Delaware Valley Prayer Gathering with Pastor Jim Cymbala and 3000 worshipers at the PA Convention Center. The 101st CMC Mennonite conference at Frostburg U, the COS singles retreat at Harvey Cedars, the 1st Presbyterian of Moorestown couples retreat at Willow Valley, the family retreat at Spruce Lake, the Umbrella Ministries retreat ministering to moms who've lost a child... So many hearts, so many different walks & stages of life, the saved and not yet saved... all coming to hear & sing the truths of the gospel, and to experience the Holy Spirit's manifest presence as we exalt Christ our King. What a privilege this has been.

Thank you all... pastors, event planners and attenders, prayer partners and monthly supporters, radio station managers, CD buyers and song downloaders. You are ALL God's grace to this ministry. The testimonies of hearts and lives that have been touched and changed (including those of our family) are truly treasures being stored in heaven. May He be glorified in how we live until we meet Him there! (Matt 6:1-4, 19-21)

Support in 2012

My home church, Calvary Chapel of Delaware County, has graciously allowed my music ministry to come under their missions umbrella. This allows for a wonderful home base of prayer support and greater accountability. It also allows for your gifts to be tax-deductible! If you've been blessed by this music ministry and would like to support the work God is doing, we would be so honored to team with you in 2012. Your gift of any amount can be received HERE. Thank you!!

We're giving the new song away! FOR US is finally here... FOR YOU! This was the second song I recently recorded with amazing producer, Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Laura Story, Starfield...). The lyrics of this song were inspired by one of Charles Spurgeon's devotionals that ministered to me during a very dark time in my life. If you're in a place like that today, I pray the song ministers to you as well.

Just enter the info above or click HERE. In exchange for your email & zip (which will only go to my fanbase- no spam!), NoiseTrade will email you the song to download for FREE! There's a way to tip the artist there, too, if the song's a blessing and you'd like to help the ministry.

You can also listen to For Us and other songs I've recorded at my Facebook fan page HERE. I'm still learning how to market stuff, so please forgive me as this is a work in process. THANKS!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Glad you're here and I pray that you find your way around the place easily! It's new and I'll be making updates and adding new features frequently, so please do check back often! If you've got any questions or ideas for making it better, feel free to drop me a line.

This website really exists for a couple of reasons. One is to help you locate songs & free chord charts of mine quickly. The other is to provide information and resources for those of you who are unfamiliar with this concert and worship ministry.

My joy has been to share the hope and grace I've come to know with those who feel as though all hope is gone (2 Cor. 1:3-4). I understand what it's like to be there... our family has experienced some profound sorrows (you can read a brief bio here or if you have some time and a latte, there's a novel's worth of TMI in the long version).

We've had some wonderful, amazing grace stories as well, don't get me wrong. It's just... I tend to write better in the valley than on the mountain top. (Probably because I listen better there). And these songs and this ministry are real because they're being lived out. I've found when leading folks in worship or ministering in song, there's a deeper joy that comes from a broken heart. A joy that comes from trusting a Sovereign God who reigns over every circumstance of life.

Why "Blessed Hurricane?"

Blessed Hurricane Ministries officially got its name in '95, when I began full-time concert ministry. I had been reading a devotional, Morning and Evening, written by one of my all-time favorite preachers, Charles H. Spurgeon. The quote kinda summed up what the Lord had been showing me through the life of our special needs daughter, Amanda. Again, that afflictions and trials are peculiar "gifts" from Him. Here's what Spurgeon had written:

"In season of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth he can trust to and is therefore compelled to cast himself on his God alone. When his vessel's on its beam-end, and no human deliverance can avail, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the providence and care of God. Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a Rock as this! O blessed hurricane that drives a soul to God and God alone."

It's God's character and His great love that we, as a music ministry, want to make much of. And this ministry is to folks of all ages, all backgrounds and musical preferences. We're grateful to be just as appropriate for a youth event like Creation Festival as for an intimate evening church concert for boomers. We're spirit-led and mix it up to include music that is appropriate for wherever we find ourselves. And most important, our desire is that people leave not saying "Wasn't the music (or the worship, the concert, the testimonies, etc...) awesome?" but rather... "Isn't GOD awesome?"

So whether leading worship for your Sunday service, conference or retreat, or sharing an intimate evening of music with your church, college or house concert, thank you for the opportunity to make much of Christ together!
